[Original] - BACK TO SCHOOL STYLE

BACK TO SCHOOL WITH CINEMA'S MOST FASHIONABLE SCHOOLGIRLS

For when you're dreaming of Paris during your British Lit class or being wined & dined by your smarmy con-artist boyfriend
---

Jenny's style is very classic girly, with lots of clean silhouettes and crisp lines. Neutral colors (pops of color for evening wear). Simple touches - her heart shaped locket, classic trench, black watch, rainbow Sobranies - complete her look.

For when you spend your freshman year pining over some nerd who doesn't know you exist but don't let it stop you from being a badass and winning the science fair
---

Margaret is very preppy and understated. Dark neutral colors with almost severe lines. She knows the importance of a signature accessory - a beret, tortoiseshell specs, chunky scarves, ID necklace (Carrie Bradshaw who?)

For when you're weathering your mid-adolescent crisis in Glasgow and show your douchey ex that girls can be killer musicians too
---

Eve is super girly & twee (in a good way). Who knew you could build a wardrobe around black and white strips? Eve, apparently. She rounds out her closet with black lace, dresses in primary colors, and fun hats.

For when you don't let your accidental pregnancy stop you from having an amazing junior year or rocking a series of increasingly awesome sweater vests
---

Juno's a true individual, comfortable with who she is & what she wants, her clothes reflect that level of confidence. She was also way ahead of the grunge revival, so kudos. Baggy jeans (I get the impression she has one pair that she wears ragged), flannels over hoodies over flannels. And sweater vests (which were genius).

For when you find your first love at uni but he's hung up on his dead best friend's ex but it's okay because you and your sister co-run a cute bookstore
---

Midori's style is very soft and classic. Light color scheme, lots of white and bright, primary colors. Slightly unexpected twists on basics, like the longer collars on her button ups. She's very understated and simple (and could definitely give Juno a run for her money in the sweater vest department.)

For when you're dealing with important problems like driving school and subtle flirtations with your best friend's brother, then find out you're a princess
---

Very prim and proper, befitting the Future Queen of Genovia. Blue is apparently her favorite color. Lots of blazers, plaid, stockings (NEVER knee socks), black shoes (pumps or doc martens, used gum optional).

For when you learn you a witch and have to blackmail the fourth member of your coven because she betrayed you
---

Rochelle's style is edgier and grungier (hey, it was the 90s). Darker color schemes, lots of black and emerald greens. When she does wear lighter colors they're very muted. Lots of accessories - heavy boots, layered necklaces (cross-shaped jewelry a must), knee socks, dark sunglasses.

For when your teenage angst bullshit has a body count.
---

(Heathers is one of my favorite examples of costume design for its subtle use of color as a character marker.) Anyway, Veronica's signature color is blue, complemented by greys, blacks, and the occasional purples (bruise colors - interesting choice). Lots of layers, vests, structured blazers, suspenders. Hats & omnipresent blue tights complete her ensembles.

For when you're stuck in a remedial summer art class for fuckups and befriending
a misanthropic
 audiophile
in your spare time

Enid's style is a bit harder to nail down - it's more a collection of costumes for whichever character Enid feels like playing on a given day rather than a cohesive wardrobe. It's eclectic, creative, and fun. Bright colors, vibrant patterns, hats, glasses, and (most importantly) black tights and combat boots.
